Every morning when I wake up I immediately feel grateful for the fact that I’m still breathing, have no aches and pains, have a functioning brain, a roof over my head and food in my cupboards, money in my bank account and a loving husband by my side, a sweet little granddaughter, and so on. I focus on all the things that are right in my life before I even get out of bed. To quote Eckhart Tolle: “Acknowledging the good that is already in your life is the foundation for all abundance.” It’s also one of the prerequisites for the law of attraction to work in our lives.
It wasn’t until I studied vibrational frequencies that I became aware of the importance of gratitude. By paying attention and noticing our blessings we create very high vibrations in our body (and environment) which can soothe our nervous system and create beneficial chemicals to support our health. While we don’t have control over Life or world events, we do have a choice of how we respond to them. We create our own sense of wellbeing via the thoughts and feelings we entertain. Making a list in your mind or on paper of all that’s good in your life will set a pleasant mood for your day.
In closing I would like to say that becoming aware of the many little things we can be grateful for takes practice at first but eventually becomes second nature. Many of my coaching clients have told me that practicing gratitude has made the greatest difference in the way they experience their life now.
I invite you to find out more about gratitude and simple steps you can take towards inner balance by reading my book and subscribing to my newsletter.
